PROFILE
Rev.Dr.Arasartnam Iyadurai was
born on 09.04.1937 in Jaffna, Thunnali South, Karaveddy (Vadamarachi)
Jaffna. As a child he suffered acute pneumonia and was destined to
succumb to this ailenment. Rev.M.S.Chinniah, who blessed and baptised
this baby boy in Christ and he survived from this disease. As a young
man, David always got involved in church related social activities. He
was trained as a Teacher at Nallur Training College. Jaffna in the year
1956-1957.
After this training, he was selected to teach students in Colombo
schools, such as Royal and Wesley College. He joined then Radio Ceylon
in 1963, and started his SLBC Career as a program assistant, and
climbed the career ladder as a program organiser, program controller and
The Director of Education Service in the 1995. (SLBC).
Whilst his attachment at SLBC he won merits and commendation in numerous
global events. He married Rose Kirupa sugirtham on August, 27th,
1964, who hails from the Eastern part of Sri-Lanka.
With his full time work commitments, he also worked hand in hand with
the Methodist Moor road church, where he eventually took up god’s call
as The Auxiliary Minister of the church in year 1987.
After retirement from fulltime work….he worked as a Media Consultant at
NIE- National Institute of Education,Maharagama.Sri-Lanka.and thereon he
works on theological projects of non-governmental organisations –
notably at HOMSA – Hope Outreach Mission for Southeast Asia – Norton
Bridge, and currently working as a Director for Wesley Press
.Sri-Lanka.
He is a strong believer of Wesleyan principles of Christian faith and
devotion.
